I'm SO lucky to still be able to watch Idol at 5pm because Canucks Playoff hockey starts tonight!!! Starting next week though I will be heading east, moving to Toronto...thank you Mr.PVR inventor!

Lauren: SO glad she picked this song, it's perfect for her!!! Not even to the first verse and I'm already dying to buy it on iTunes!!! DAMN girl...we have an top 2 right here!!! She looks the part tonight, is singing the part...she could take season10 Idol!!! CHILLS!!! I said before she started this she was going to knock it out of the park...I think she just hit it around the world and back again.

Stefano- I feel for this guy, he's really been going through the crap from the fans....he deserves to be here and I believe he has it in him to go pretty far! Great song for him..he said he was going to bring the beast this week! I think he's doing this one for the ladies. He's really worked on what the judges have said and is using it well...look at those eyes staying open, look at his connection...something Pia didn't work on ;) YES there is the BEAST!!!!!! another one I can't wait to hear the full version cause I wanna see more of those notes!!!!
Scotty: OH MY GAWD this is going to be good but can someone once again PLEASE tell him to hold the mic in his hand not the fingertips! oh now he changed it...Scotty, I liked that song damnit. Mic is NOT a flute!!!! HOLD IT! This kid still makes me smile though...I don't even know the song but I'm liking it. I'm hearing more of the backups than him though. Nice vocals when you could hear them but Scotty, you shot yourself in the boot...you should have stuck with the other song, bottom 3?
Casey: Beard trimmed a bit!!! It's not as pubie ;) MUCH BETTER! Pick a damn song man! I was excited for Phil Colins and now he's picked something that I think may just land him in the bottom 3! OH there goes his "I'm gonna take a shit" growl!!! I mean it's cool and everything but take Jimmy's advice, he's there for a reason...he wasn't asking you to stay from who you were but was guiding you. Personally not a fan this week, nice vocal...sick of the facial expressions. I'm not denying his talent, I love the big ass bass but I really wanted his second choice song.
Hailey: WOW boots! First note...OUCH....but I have no fear she'll pick it up. She's grown SO much on this show and I love it as I've been a huge fan of hers. Her OHHHH OHHH OHHHHH's were the perfect about of breathy and right into the shouts for the chorus. I wish someone would work on her movement with her a bit, she just needs to let go..she seems a lil stiff on stage. Alright song choice, I'm worried about her this week because Stefano brought it so hard.
Jacob: Oh buddy, I'm counting on you to suck tonight ;) Sorry folks but he's mine to go this week...vocally he's good, I like his personality but as they are saying CORN!!!! Lets do a bubba gump corn still...corn cakes, pop corn, corn on the cob, corn bread...oh wait he's singing now. Hey Celine Dion do you need an opening act in Vegas???? Another one I can't wait for the full version only cause I like pretending I can belt this song too. UH OH....that note, did did the Jacob sweet spot and it wasn't just at the end of the tune, good listening to the judges. Crap Jacob, really? did you haaaaaaaaaaaaave to do that????? I'm screaming I HATE YOU I HATE YOU!!!!! WHY WHY WHY....now one of my faves have to go home. Best performance....now please bring back Jennifer Hudson to do a duet with him in the final!
James: wow...James is going from rock to Metal....back to his roots, good for him!!!!! People are gonna love it or hate it BUT I'm sitting next to my mom, she's tapping her foot and normally she'd say turn that down. My dad is now standing up watching saying WOW. FINALLY, I'm not hearing a Lambert/Daughtry mix...that was JAMES!!! Dad just said he stole the show, mom's foot is still going....YES JAMES YES!!!!!!!!!!! Jlo I was just going to say that, that was real....that was James!
We had pop, quirk-rock, jazz, metal....WHAT???? Best season EVER!!!! How can I even pick bottom 3???

Sadly I think bottom 3 will be Paul, Hailey and maybe Casey or maybe even Lauren but that is a guess based on the way the Americans have been voting. I have to agree Jacob brought it at the end of the song, but it was still BORING. Stefano kicked it up, but he has a long way to go and not long to get there. James rocked and entertained, but I'd be very surprised if her actually won this thing. Happily surprised but still... heavy metal rock guy... Lauren is vocally great but still a little too wallflower, scooting her legs in awkward kid position... she has the raw material though and at her age could be moulded well. I think everyone knows even if Scotty doesn't win, he'll be signed and selling country like candy to kids. I like Paul, but again, not sure he is Idol enough for the kiddies that vote... and Casey is so unique and weird and talented but will the USA 'get' him? A very talented bunch though, it has been very entertaining and a pleasure to watch, unlike so many years before.

ReplyDeleteI've been holding firm that Paul will go 5th just because Daughtry did...I also will hold firm that HE and his band (gosh I hope he keeps that going, they were there tonight to support him) they will do amazing post-Idol. I find you love him or you shrug at him...but my love for him is strong. I can't get enough of his voice, the way he skips and swings his bent left arm on stage....it's not all about the smile!!! The last 3 weeks I've bought the AI full CD of songs, when I put them on CD cause I'm going for a drive and don't know what else to add it's always been The Grand Mags!
Stefano would have be SO amazing if he made it through last year, he's great but you have a handful that are leaps ahead. I feel bad cause the last couple seasons have sucked and he could have easily taken it all.
Lauren, I worry about her...I've wondered before if she could handle it...each week though it grows. She reminds me of Diana, she lost to Fantasia....young, innocent with a set of pipes. Improves each week...I'd buy her album now.
Jacob was my toss away but he did really well tonight....this season is making my head spin!!!
I think Paul is very unique, I just don't think as a solo guy he is working out. I love his voice, but again within this contest, I don't think he is 'wowing' anyone with his song choices. I do agree though, he has gained much exposure and he should go on to do well within his band.
ReplyDeleteI did my Twitter sum up this morning on the show. I re-watch the videos on YouTube to have another take on them, outside the filler stuff the entire show presents. Gives me another chance to give it all a listen. I don't listen to the iTunes stuff.
